It has has been an exciting year for the O’Fallon Downtown District. With the opening of the Vine Street Market, many are starting to enjoy a more vibrant downtown area. Furchild and other members of the Downtown District are hoping to further excite the community (and their four-legged friends) by hosting a new downtown affair, “Downtown Dog Days.”

Downtown Dog Days will be held on the second Saturday of August, September, and October (August 10th, September 14th, and October 12th) from 10 am to 3 pm in downtown O’Fallon.

Downtown Dog Days will have a variety of things to do for dogs and their owners.

Sweet Katie Bee’s and Hemingway’s will have outdoor seating available. Fezziwig’s will have iced tea for humans and dogs!

For pets that need a break, the VFW will have doggy pools to swim in. They will also be able to cool off with specialty frozen yogurt at Furchild.

To kick off the events, Furchild and Unity Yoga and Wellness will be holding “Doga,” dog-friendly yoga on August 9th.

Each month’s Dog Days will have a theme:

August 10th: Pampering Those Furry Friends.

September 14th: Pet Safety and Protection from Heartworms and Fleas.

October 12th: Halloween Themed Pup-Strut Contest (With Trophies).

To guarantee everyone’s safety the Downtown District asks that all pets participating be leashed and well behaved.

If you want to get involved or have any questions, you can contact the owner of Furchild, Julie Hughes, at [email protected]. Be sure to like and follow the Downtown District and Furchild on Facebook for more details about the upcoming events.
